Julie Gibb, Sim Local Programme Director Shortlisted for People’s Choice Award

London, October 2019: Julie Gibb, Programme Director at Sim Local has been shortlisted for the People’s Choice Award by the MVNOs Series.

The People’s Choice Award recognises outstanding achievement in the MVNO and eSIM categories.

Julie has been recognised for demonstrating excellence in the solution provider space.

Sim Local is the leading global travel technology company that provides international travellers with cost effective telecoms solutions (with either Physical or embedded SIM technology) for their entire trip, either directly or through a third party.

Sim Local has spent the last 2 years developing an online store that will allow international travellers download local eSIM profiles. Deploying the latest technology, the online store will allow international travellers to select their own local roaming options online in Europe, Middle East and Asia and eventually across the globe with their preferred local telecoms network that best suits their needs.  This will revolutionise telecoms charges for international travellers, and Sim Local’s technology will capitalise on the growth opportunities provided by eSIM.

Instrumental to the company’s success and innovative solution is eSIM Programme Director Julie Gibb. Julie has over 20 years’ experience in the telecommunications sector and is responsible for the technical development and operational support of the Sim Local portfolio.

About MVNOs Europe

The European MVNO market is the most mature MVNO market in the world. With 5% YoY growth, it is where brands find their foothold in the industry and amplify their success.

These changes include the EU roaming regulation “Roam Like At Home”, eSIM provisioning, as well as the virtualisation and digitalisation of products and services. These factors are influencing the core market and will affect MVNO growth within Europe, as well as inhibit international investments.
